Motor, the Harley-Davidson Museum restaurant, invites Milwaukee to celebrate National Chili Day on Thursday, February 26 and help feed Wisconsin families.
Motor will donate $1 of each chili order and $2 from each chili to-go tub purchased on National Chili Day to America’s Second Harvest of Wisconsin, a food bank that provides more than 11 million pounds of food to nonprofit programs that serve more than 172,000 people in southeastern Wisconsin.
Motor recently won the People’s Choice Award for Best Chili at the 3rd annual Milwaukee Chili Bowl, sponsored by MilwaukeeFood.com. Touted as Milwaukee’s largest chili cook-off, Motor and Cafe Racer beat more than 25 restaurants and 60 types of chili.
“We are proud that Motor’s Roadhouse Chili won the Golden Ladle award,” said Motor’s Head Chef Travis Taylor. “The best way to celebrate National Chili Day is sharing our award-winning chili and raising funds to feed Wisconsin families at the same time.”
There are three ways to participate in the fundraising:
- Order a Bowl: Roadhouse Chili is available all day on National Chili Day next Thursday, February 26, in Motor and Cafe Racer for $6.95 a bowl.
- Enjoy the Chili Bar: Since one bowl is never enough, a deluxe all-you-can-eat chili bar will be available in Motor from 5-8pm as part of the Thirsty Thursday happy hour (more about Thirsty Thursdays below). For $9.95 you can customize your chili bowl with unlimited toppings.
- Take it to go: Grab a tub of chili to go. A 64-ounce order of chili is $19.95 and will feed 8 of your hungry co-workers, friends or family. Phone orders can be placed by calling 414-287-2778.
The weekly chili bar is offered now through the end of March during Thirsty Thursday happy hours at Motor each week, 5-8pm. Roadhouse Chili will remain on the menu at Cafe Racer and Motor for lunch and dinner year-round.
Motor and Cafe Racer are located at 401 West Canal Street in Milwaukee across from the Harley-Davidson Museum building. A Museum ticket is not needed to dine at either Motor or Cafe Racer. Motor is open to the general public for lunch and dinner, while Cafe Racer is open for breakfast and lunch.
