Today marks the 50th Anniversary of Jake’s Restaurant at 21445 Gumina Rd., in Brookfield.
To celebrate this special occasion, owners Jake Replogle Jr. and wife, Karen are rolling back their prices to 1960.
In 1960, Jake’s sold its Original Tenderloin and Onion Rings for $1.95. As part of its 50th Anniversary event (Sunday and Monday), Jake’s Signature Tenderloin Steak (with onion rings on top, or not) will be priced at $10.95 or $1.95. When you order your steak dinner, Jake’s will be raffling off chances to win its Signature Tenderloin Steak at the roll-back, 1960 price of $1.95.
Drink specials for Sunday and Monday also include Old Fashioneds for $1.95 and Pabst Blue Ribbon for $0.99.
Also, as part of the festivities, Jake’s will be asking people to submit a story or personal memory regarding a past visit to Jake’s. The stories will then be put in a time capsule that is going to be buried under Jake’s new garden patio the day of the 50th anniversary event Sunday.
The time capsule will not be opened until 2035 – Jake’s 75th Anniversary.
To make a reservation for Sunday or Monday’s event call (262) 781-7995.
EVENT INFORMATION: Jake’s 50th Anniversary party takes place Sunday, May 23 from 4pm-8pm.
SIDE NOTE: Every Monday (as of Sunday, May 23, 2010), Jake’s will be rolling back the clock and offering its “Original 8 oz Tenderloin” with choice of potato, salad or onion rings for only $10.95. We recommend calling ahead to confirm special is still running.
